We are thrilled to invite you to the CPCU Alamo Chapter's I-Day event, scheduled for Wednesday, October 15, 2025! This year's theme, "The Future of Risk: Navigating Uncertainty in a Changing World," promises to bring together the insurance community in San Antonio and beyond for a day of education, networking, and professional development.

9:15 AM – 10:00 AM: Session 1

  • Speaker: Nate Loughin
  • Topic: Gen AI Applications in Insurance 
  • Description: Gen AI is being rapidly adopted across the insurance industry.  The first deployments have been broad foundational LLM’s that are broadly used for task acceleration and research, although applications are swiftly expanding into narrow Gen AI tools focused on enhancing specific operational functions, like underwriting enablement.  During this session we will cover developments and common uses for tools, specific use cases in the insurance space, as well as the next generation of tools coming out of Generative and Agentic AI applications.

  • Topic: P&C Industry Trends
  • Description: This session with provide an update on the latest loss trends and key drivers impacting the Property & Casualty insurance industry, across both personal and commercial lines.

  • Speaker: Timothy Christ, CCC
  • Topic: Underwriting: 2025 Claims & Subrogation Trends and the Impact/Insight into the Industry Moving Forward
  • Description: This session is a discussion about how the largest carriers are leveraging claims and subrogation data today to inform their choices of tomorrow and driving their investment strategy for 2026 and beyond.

  • Speaker: David Tenayuca, Professor of Information and Cyber Security at UTSA - Cyber Risk
  • Topic: Cyber Risk Management: Empowering Insurance Adjusters in a Digital Age
  • Description: In today’s hyper-connected world, cyber threats are no longer just an IT issue—they’re a business risk with direct implications for insurance claims, underwriting, and customer trust. This session equips insurance adjusters with a foundational understanding of cybersecurity risk management, emphasizing how cyber risks are assessed, mitigated, and translated into insurance decisions. Attendees will gain insights into threat landscapes, incident response, and how to evaluate cyber hygiene when handling claims or assessing coverage.

  • Topic: Gen Z Perspective on Insurance and Risk Management
  • Description:  A panel discussion with 3 students who are currently in the Risk Management Program at St Mary’s University. They will provide their perspective on the industry, what they look for in an employer, what they have learned from their internships, and what their perspective is as a member of Generation Z.
