Speaker/Bio:  Rita Williams-Bogar  

An award-winning dynamic speaker and facilitator, Rita is the founder of Personal Development Solutions, LLC.  She uses a client-centered approach to provide custom workshops and consults with organizations and individuals on leadership development, emotional intelligence, ethics, diversity, and insurance education. Her mission is to share proven strategies to better leverage individuals’ talents and skills to reach their full potential.  Her TEDx talk, Surpassing Your Personal Best, exemplifies her mission. Rita’s corporate experience includes a 25-year robust career for a national insurance company where she transformed operating divisions, mentored individuals, and achieved strong results. She served as director of underwriting operations for PA, NJ, NY and the New England states; Public Affairs Coordinator; and Director of Learning and Development. She holds the CPCU, AINS, AU, ARM, and ChFC designations.  Rita earned her Bachelor of Science degree from Bryant University and MBA in Finance & Risk Management, with honors, from Walden University.  She has facilitated numerous CPCU courses, webinars, and presentations.  Rita is a Platinum level instructor for The Institutes. Rita has been recognized as a 2015 Alumni Achievement Awardee of Bryant University, by NJBIZ as one of New Jersey’s 2011 Best 50 Women in Business and by the U.S. Small Business Administration as the 2011 Region II Minority Small Business Champion of the Year.  She is a contributing author to the book Big Bold Business Advice. Rita is actively involved in her community, serving on numerous boards of directors for regional and national organizations.  She serves on Bryant University’s board of trustees where she chairs the Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion Committee.  Rita served on the CPCU Society’s Leadership Council and is Vice Chair of the CPCU Society’s (Global) Ethics Committee.  She is the Executive Director of the New Jersey CPCU Society Chapter

Topic: Ethically Harnessing the Power of AI in Insurance 

Course Objectives: In the evolving insurance industry, Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) technologies have been pivotal in transforming operations, underwriting, claim processing, customer service, and fraud detection. This session will define these technologies, explore how and why they are used in the insurance industry, discuss cautionary measures, regulatory considerations, and provide ethical guidance for actions to be taken to protect the public interest.
